Phra Pokklao Bridge Bangkok is a stunningly beautiful and iconic landmark in the city. It is located along the Chao Phraya River, stretching approximately 90 meters across with 11 arches. The bridge was built in 1870 by King Chulalongkorn in memory of his father Phra Phutthayotfa Chulalok, or otherwise known as King Rama I. During construction, the bridge was mostly done with local materials such as teak wood from a nearby forest and brick from Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District. Its reason for being so impressive is the height of the arch, perfect symmetry and the curved walls on both ends of it. Phra Pokklao Bridge Bangkok has been a remarkable symbol for its unique grandeur for centuries, connecting two sides of Bangkok year after year and even becoming one of Bangkoks's most picturesque backdrops for photographs among tourists.
